"Dal punto di vista tecnico i SOUND REPORTAGE sono registrazioni temporizzate, effettuate con un magnetofono al quale è stata tolta la testina di cancellazione, su una cassetta a ciclo continuo. Le registrazioni, stralci di pochi secondi del materiale esistente, sono distanziate tra loro da silenzi. Le varie registrazioni, così, si accavallano più o meno casualmente; i suoni registrati anteriormente, se sufficientemente "forti" e presenti, informeranno di se stessi anche le registrazioni che si sovrapporranno; le frequenze dominanti e le caratteristiche delle sonorità e dei timbri particolari dei vari ambienti, si rafforzeranno e risulteranno evidenti; alcuni episodi ritmici, se molto frequenti, verranno esaltati o sovrapposti creando nuovi patterns. 
Se così da una parte essi sono effettivamente indagini sul  panorama acustico di un certo luogo, su come esso si presenta nei diversi momenti della giornata o comunque di un certo periodo, dall'altra trovo interessante pensarle anche come riflessioni sulla nostra memoria, nella quale ogni nuova esperienza può esaltare o sfumare o  addirittura  cancellare i ricordi ed i segni di quelle che la precedono."   Francesco Michi

"From a technical point of view the Sound Reportage are timed recordings, made on an endless cassette, using a cassette recorder without the erasing head. Various recordings (little fragments of the existing sound material) overlap in a quite random way; if the sounds that was recorded before are enough loud and have a distinct presence, they'll inform with themselves the recordings that will overlap them. The dominant frequencies and the characteristic of the sounds themselves and of the various acoustic environments will be reinforced and will become more and more manifest;  rhythmic elements, if they are very frequent, will be magnified or overlapped, creating new patterns.
Sound Reportages are really researches about the soundscape of certain environments, but I like to think on them also as reflections about our own memory, in which any new experience can magnify or fade or erase the memories and the traces of the ones that came before."   Francesco Michi
